MSc

MSc in Transport Systems Engineering and Intelligent Management

Programme overview

Study traffic flows, networks, infrastructure and operational organisation. Connect transport data with models and simulation to compare engineering and management options. Advanced study develops dynamic networks, multi-modal coordination, data fusion, optimisation and operational governance.

Automobile & Transports — Paris College of Automotive Science and Transport. Duration: 2 years.

MSc study builds on relevant undergraduate foundations, with advanced methods, complex cases and independent research or applied projects.

Study pathways

Public transport; traffic networks; intelligent transport operations. All pathways share a common core. Indicate your preferred pathway when applying; actual availability is confirmed before admission.

Learning outcomes

Develop systems analysis skills in demand, capacity and multi-modal coordination, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop advanced models skills in dynamic networks and operational scenarios, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop data fusion skills in continuous updates, estimation and quality, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop optimisation evaluation skills in reliability, resources and environment, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop deployment governance skills in indicators, platforms and project organisation, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop engineering project skills in digital-twin operation and comparison of options, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Study progression

Year 1: deepen specialist methods, undertake literature or case research and define an independent project.

Year 2: complete a research or applied project, evaluate methods and outcomes, and submit a final report and oral defence.

Projects and practice

Compare transport-network operating options through dynamic simulation, resource analysis and environmental indicators.

Document the problem, working process, personal contribution, validation evidence and limitations. Individual contributions are assessed within team projects. Placements and external projects depend on actual arrangements.

Teaching and assessment

Technical reading, engineering cases, documented exercises and professional simulations develop reasoned analysis and practical judgement.

Assignments, case or laboratory work, staged projects and the final defence assess accuracy, methods, evidence quality, practical reliability and communication. Assessment weightings, reassessment and extension rules are published before teaching begins. Moodle may support resources, assignments, quizzes and feedback; specialist practical activities are assessed separately.

Entry requirements

Provide evidence of relevant undergraduate study or equivalent experience. Bachelor applicants should demonstrate mathematics and basic science foundations. MSc applicants should explain relevant engineering, vehicle, transport or data study. Applicants from other fields are assessed for any additional foundation requirements.

Submit education evidence, transcripts, a CV, a motivation statement and any requested project materials. Teaching language, language evidence and document-translation requirements are published for the intake. Website language does not determine teaching language.

Completion and institutional diploma

Complete the required modules and assessments, final project and oral defence. The programme leads to an institutional MSc diploma in Transport Systems Engineering and Intelligent Management.

Career development

Transport systems analysis; intelligent operations projects; network modelling. Employment depends on individual skills, experience and employer requirements. Regulated work requires the applicable qualifications and authorisations. Further study is assessed by the receiving institution.
