MSc

MSc in Automotive Technical Assessment and Investigation Support

Programme overview

Study vehicle technical information, inspection records, repair calculations and technical case documentation. Learn to prepare and review traceable evidence within authorised support responsibilities. Advanced study develops complex electric-vehicle cases, estimate comparison, remote workflows and quality management; it does not itself authorise regulated expert practice.

Automobile & Transports — Paris College of Automotive Science and Transport. Duration: 2 years.

MSc study builds on relevant undergraduate foundations, with advanced methods, complex cases and independent research or applied projects.

Study pathways

Vehicle technical assessment; repair estimates; technical case documentation. All pathways share a common core. Indicate your preferred pathway when applying; actual availability is confirmed before admission.

Learning outcomes

Develop complex vehicles skills in electrification and technical information analysis, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop estimate evaluation skills in options, evidence and discrepancy review, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop remote workflows skills in information completeness and quality, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop case portfolios skills in task organisation and indicators, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop support governance skills in responsibilities, data and collaboration, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Develop integrated project skills in case workflows and quality improvement, explaining methods, evidence and limitations.

Study progression

Year 1: deepen specialist methods, undertake literature or case research and define an independent project.

Year 2: complete a research or applied project, evaluate methods and outcomes, and submit a final report and oral defence.

Projects and practice

Review complex vehicle cases and develop an evidence-based workflow and quality-improvement plan.

Document the problem, working process, personal contribution, validation evidence and limitations. Individual contributions are assessed within team projects. Placements and external projects depend on actual arrangements.

Teaching and assessment

Technical reading, engineering cases, documented exercises and professional simulations develop reasoned analysis and practical judgement.

Assignments, case or laboratory work, staged projects and the final defence assess accuracy, methods, evidence quality, practical reliability and communication. Assessment weightings, reassessment and extension rules are published before teaching begins. Moodle may support resources, assignments, quizzes and feedback; specialist practical activities are assessed separately.

Entry requirements

Provide evidence of relevant undergraduate study or equivalent experience. Bachelor applicants should demonstrate mathematics and basic science foundations. MSc applicants should explain relevant engineering, vehicle, transport or data study. Applicants from other fields are assessed for any additional foundation requirements.

Submit education evidence, transcripts, a CV, a motivation statement and any requested project materials. Teaching language, language evidence and document-translation requirements are published for the intake. Website language does not determine teaching language.

Completion and institutional diploma

Complete the required modules and assessments, final project and oral defence. The programme leads to an institutional MSc diploma in Automotive Technical Assessment and Investigation Support.

Career development

Technical case coordination; vehicle assessment-support projects; technical quality management. Employment depends on individual skills, experience and employer requirements. Regulated work requires the applicable qualifications and authorisations. Further study is assessed by the receiving institution.
